In Russia, there is a lack of frequencies for LTE, which leads to an increase in network bandwidth and an increase in Internet speed, Izvestia writes.
The problem with frequencies has been outlined for a long time, for example, in the Moscow region – one of the most problematic regions due to the highest load on the network. Prior to this, operators were solving the problem of alternative installation. But after choosing new equipment in Russia, it became much more difficult.
To solve the problem with the lack of frequencies, operators resort to refarming – transferring a frequency from one standard to another.
For example, VimpelCom gave away a frequency in the Moscow region in detecting 2.1 GHz under LTE, although they had previously monitored 3G. This connection increases the speed of data transfer on the Internet by 1.5 times.
It would be possible to unload the LTE network with 5G, but so far no frequencies have been allocated for the new standard and there is no domestic equipment for its operation. [Известия]
