Tea contains tannins, which have astringent and antibacterial properties. However, when large amounts of tea are drunk, these substances reduce the absorption of iron and can lead to a deficiency of this element. Iron from vegetable sources such as nuts, beans, spinach is particularly poorly absorbed due to tannins.

Tea contains caffeine. The longer the drink is brewed, the more caffeine it contains. Large amounts of caffeine can cause anxiety, increased stress, as well as irritability, sleep problems and headaches. This has been proven by scientific research.
