The Messenger 2.0 system will not only provide telephone communication, but also support the Internet of Things, as well as tracking of important objects. The constellation is planned to include 28 Gonets-M1 satellites in low Earth orbit, the press service noted.
According to the general director of the enterprise, Pavel Cherenkov, the deployment of this group is expected to be completed by 2029. Currently, studies on the location selection of ground communication stations are continuing.
