The Moscow Stock Exchange introduced an initiative to create a special secure channel through which investors could receive reliable corporate information from companies. For now, organizations have the right not to publicly disclose information about their work to protect themselves from potential sanctions.
The idea of creating a secure, non-public channel for disclosing corporate information to company investors was proposed by Irina Grekova, a senior director of the Moscow Stock Exchange.
According to Grekova, in the current situation, when companies cannot publicly disclose information about their work, it is unclear to investors how to make informed investment decisions. A non-public channel through which investors could obtain the necessary information could be a solution to this problem.
On Monday, November 28, the government expanded the right of companies, introduced in March, not to publicly disclose corporate information. The measure will be in effect until July 2023. In August, Mosbirzha made recommendations not to exercise this right of the government.
In February, the Bank of Russia decided not to release banks’ financial statements, but in November announced its intention to resume publishing the statements.
