RSC Energia engineers were responsible for the development of the printer, together with Tomsk Polytechnic University and Tomsk State University.

The test piece is printed using the method of layering the filament, i.e. using molten polymer thread.

According to experts, the new technology will make it possible to print the necessary elements and structures for the spacecraft directly in orbit. The schematics in this scenario will be sent from Earth themselves.

Recall that in early October, University of Central Florida employees announced that bricks printed from the lunar soil on a 3D printer could itself be the material to be used in the construction of a base camp on a natural satellite of the Earth.
