Avito Rabota, an online platform for job and employee search, has bought a majority stake in the Kazakh service to automate the selection and adaptation of personnel HR Messenger. Avito’s stake in the company will be 62.75%, a company representative told RB.RU.

A year earlier, Avito Rabota invested $1.2 million in the service.

The transaction was carried out through the portfolio structure of the Avito group – LLC Avito Holding. The HR Messenger team will reportedly remain operationally independent, led by CEO and founder Ruslan Abdulganiev.

“By investing in HR Messenger, Avito Rabota continues to implement a strategy focused on recruiting automation and strengthens its expertise in chatbot technologies. For Avito Rabota clients, this is an additional opportunity to use an advanced HRTech product that can interact with candidates on all popular instant messengers,” the company said in a statement.

HR Messenger has been operating on the Russian market for more than three years. The service uses chat bots and voice bots to cover the recruiting process from responding to a candidate to assisting in matching and reduces the amount of routine recruiter work by five times. In December last year, HR Messenger raised $1.2 million from Avito Rabota to build the business and expand the company’s staff.
