One of the most noteworthy features of WhatsApp is the ability to delete one or more messages for all chat participants. The platform also allows you to delete this message only for the person who sent it. However, in some cases, users make the mistake of clicking the Delete for me button instead of the Delete for everyone button right above it. Luckily, the app, owned by Meta, turned on fix in their latest update: a new button that allows you to receive a message.
This new button for repeated action on accidental deletion, in particular, will be displayed at the bottom of the screen when the user clicks on the “delete for me” action that appears when he wants to delete a message. This one, yes will be active for five secondsenough time to click the Retry option and later be able to delete the message for everyone.
WhatsApp has confirmed that the feature is now available for iOS and Android users; apparently without a previous update. In any case, to delete a message for everyone and not just the person who sent it, all you have to do is hold down on that text and click on the delete option that appears at the bottom, and finally click on delete for all”.
WhatsApp is also working on the ability to edit messages
In parallel, WhatsApp is developing a feature that will allow editing previously sent messages, which is already possible on some messaging platforms such as iMessages. Application, as it turned out wabetainfo, will show a button when clicking on a specific chat. The text from that chat will reappear in the text box so that the user can correct a typo, spelling mistake, or even repeat the entire sentence. Subsequently, the sender must press “Send” again and WhatsApp will replace the message.
The messaging app owned by Meta appears to be it will not display the edit history. Therefore, the recipient will not be able to see what was written earlier if he did not enter the chat in time. It also doesn’t look like the platform is displaying the icon as this post has been edited, as it happens on Slack or Discord. It is also unclear if WhatsApp will enforce a time limit for editing this message.
