Reuters reported that Microsoft planned to acquire Netflix for $190 billion. This is the company’s next major acquisition since Activision Blizzard.
The CEO Satya Nadella, as it should be, “thinks big” and therefore wants to buy a streaming combination in the first half of 2023. Now Microsoft needs to convince the authorities that the purchase of Activision Blizzard will not harm other areas of the market.
Reuters thinks it will be easier to announce a new transition through regulators like the FCC.
Microsoft is already close to Netflix. So, the company’s president, Brad Smith, is already on the board of directors of Netflix. [Reuters]
