The Ministry of Digital Development has developed the text of the document “New software for the entire system”, in which it has identified the priority developments of Russian analogues of foreign communication services. Analogs of TikTok and Instagram* were not included in this roadmap, but analogs of email clients and Zoom were included.

The Ministry of Digital Development took into account benefits for analogues of Zoom and mail in the strategy for the development of communication services.

At the same time, the department does not give the promised grants to either one or the other, since these are already “mature services that are not inferior to their Western counterparts.” Consequently, grant support does not appear to be “optimal”, RBC quotes representatives from the Ministry of Digital Development.

However, IVA Technologies, which develops such a service as video conferencing Zoom, VK Digital Technologies LLC (owned by VK holding and creates an analogue of Microsoft Teams) and Rosatom, which works on the Mail 2.0 mail service, will be able to claim a reduction rate. of the loans.

“The corresponding application from IVA Technologies has already been received, the required loan financing amount is 50 million rubles,” the Ministry of Digital Development specified.

Otherwise, all projects will be carried out from the companies’ own funds.
