A long-awaited novelty has been released in Russia – the film “Operation Fortune: The Art of Winning” from Guy Ritchie.
We are already accustomed to the fact that the director produces stylish and spectacular films, always squeezing out emotions: from aggression to laughter. He really knows how to manipulate the mood of visibility.
In tandem with Jason Statham, he has been working for several years, he is a frequent guest in Richie’s paintings. And, as a rule, with the participation of actors, first-class action films or simply spectacular films are obtained.
For me personally, Guy Ritchie over the years has become a kind of standard of British quality. But this time something went wrong.
We have already reviewed the novelty and are in a hurry to share our impressions.
Wrong turn
In 2015, Guy Ritchie made his first spy action movie Agents of A.N.C.L., and now he decided to return to this topic again.
What is the movie about: Elite intelligence officer Orson Fortune has been given a new assignment: combating the spread of deadly weapons. But he cannot complete this mission alone.
He’s forced to take on the world’s best operatives, as well as create a movie actor who connects a dashing group with a credible cover. At stake is the fate of mankind.
the director often shoots author’s cinemain which he tries to experiment. And even in cases where his pictures are not suitable for collecting, he still continues to make films, sometimes leveling his statistics for the “bosses” of Hollywood to stay afloat.
It is difficult to say that this film was directed by Guy Ritchie. To be honest, I would not have been able to understand this if I had not known in advance. Here absolutely nothing from the style of the famous creator.
The plot is very mature and drawn out. In places, it resembles the failure of even the “Gray Man”. This is a standard spy movie in which the main characters must save the world.
The problem lies both in the extraneous scenario and in function characters. They are not revealed in any way for almost 2-hour timing, they have no development. These are just doodles to move the plot forward. And then some of them, it seems, do not need to appear.
None of them is remembered either by their character or even by their names. To you absolutely don’t care at allbecause they do not rule out getting your attention.
As for history. It is written lazily and often overloaded with unnecessary details..
They prevent you from disappearing into a constant and constant environment, which is why you get lost in the plot. All unexpected (!!!) turns of events are read at a time or two even by those who have watched a spy movie at least once. You already know in the middle part of the eye (if not earlier) who is framing whom, where a person’s muscles are overstrained, and so on.
At the same time, Richie is trying to make fun of the very genre of this movie. There are cliched, but no less funny, jokes in the picture. True, it turns out they catastrophically fewto unfold the creation and plug the plot holes, with which the novelty is simply oversaturated. All the humor regresses to early Marvel or Fast & Furious levels.
“Operation Fortune looks like an unsuccessful parody of Bond itself and Mission Impossible.”
Looks expensive but doesn’t get any better
Beautiful landscapes, inspiring panoramas, exquisite locations, expensive costumes – this is all that is inherent in expensive cinema, and this is fully met here. However, it is assumed that something is missing.
bourgeois scenes often do not use, surrounding background for penetration and regular bolts of heroes-terminators who always easily cope with any premises. Have fun: Richie, sensations, sensations and no interest.
Scenes of chases, break-ins, hot shootouts – there are very few of them and they are so lazily staged that they do not evoke any emotions. It becomes corny boring for you to follow the progress. Combat soldiers are also ordinary and do not use any features to dilute themselves a little. The viewer is looking at the same thing for the thousandth time.
For what else I personally liked Guy Ritchie, it’s for branded soundtracks. In his paintings, one special melody often sounds, which stands out against the general background. It makes you want to add it to your playlist. Even in the most not very successful King Arthur, the main soundtrack evokes incorruptible emotions and excites the mind.
And then what? Nothing. Absolutely passing music, which is not remembered by anything.
This is not the Guy Ritchie we know
Before us is a completely passing movie, in which there is nothing from Guy Ritchie. I don’t know why he took on this project at all, but inside with him he couldn’t or didn’t want to.
If you REALLY want to go to the movies, you have already passed the new Avatar, then you can watch Operation Fortune: The Art of Winning. But keep in mind that she will not leave behind anything, only emptiness.
To the point: Watched Avatar: The Way of Water. What is the best movie
I would not waste time on this movie, it’s better to revisit old Richie films, like the same “Gentlemen” or “Cards, Money, Two Smoking Barrels.” And about it just by chance or wait for the release to view at home.
