Despite everything, last year’s decline does not yet configure an indicator market contraction. This volume is still around 5% higher than in 2019, representing growth compared to the pre-pandemic years.
Although quarantine and isolation protocols have negatively affected various product and service sectors, there has been a warming in the electronics segment. In addition to looking for entertainment options without leaving home, there has been a sudden mass migration to remote working regimes.
This combination, of course, resulted in artificial growth for the PC market, well above the forecast. With the resumption of the face-to-face regime and the end of isolation measures in most countries, a decline in sales of these products was already expected.
