The head of Twitter, Elon Musk, reacted to the information that after the reductions in the status of the company, only 1.3 thousand employees remained. According to the billionaire, this figure is a thousand less than the real one.

Elon Musk named the number of full-time employees left on Twitter

This week, CNBC, citing internal documentation, reported that since Elon Musk’s arrival, Twitter has laid off about 80% of its 7,500 employees. According to the channel, the company employs around 1,300 people, including fewer than 550 staff engineers.

Additionally, according to CNBC, around 1,400 Twitter employees are on the payroll and continue to receive salaries, but do not work.

Musk responded to the CNBC news on Twitter:

“This note is incorrect. Twitter has about 2,300 active employees working.”

The businessman added that “hundreds of employees” still work in the trust and security team, “as well as several thousand contractors.”

In November, The Washington Post wrote that Musk intended to lay off 75% of Twitter’s staff to save money. In December, part of the dismissed workers went to court with claims for numerous violations by the company in relation to personnel.
