Barr noted that Google, Amazon, Apple and other tech companies have had a lot of influence on market processes and have had a serious if not monopoly on the business sector through search engines, operating systems and social networks.
Barr also said that both sides agreed with their view, but that Congress had been unwilling or unable to influence the situation for years. Barr urged lawmakers to “act quickly to stop tech giants from unfairly exploiting their dominance in other markets.”
