For residents of the Russian regions, the issuance of new passports has been suspended, writes RIA Novosti. When trying to request a document, the Gosuslug portal warns about technical problems on the part of Goznak.
In the message of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the “Gosuslug” portal it is noted that new generation foreign passports will not be available until the second half of March 2023.
At the same time, an old-style document can be ordered without any hindrance. If you urgently need to leave the country, it is proposed to apply for such a passport.
Some regional media reported on the issue earlier. Residents of the Orenburg and Kamchatka region refused. The media of the Tver region also wrote about a similar situation.
The restriction did not affect Moscow, writes RIA Novosti. Residents of the capital, who have applied for a biometric passport, keep in mind that the process is carried out in accordance with the established procedure.
Earlier, the TASS agency reported that at the Kryukovo MFC, the Muscovite was still refused to accept an application for a biometric passport, citing the lack of chips.
A foreign passport of a new sample is issued for 10 years. On the cover of the document there is a microchip with the holder’s biometric data.
