Tourist flow to Russia in 2022 fell 25 times compared to pre-Covid 2019

Data on the flow of tourists to Russia from the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) was provided by the FSB border service.

By the end of 2022, the tourist flow to Russia amounted to 200.1 thousand people, which is 1.5 times less than in 2021 (288.3 thousand) and 25.5 times less than in 2019, when the COVID-19 pandemic, and countries have No restrictions on tourist travel.

Among foreign tourists, most trips to Russia in 2022 were made by citizens of Germany (25.4 thousand), Turkey (22.6 thousand), Iran (14.6 thousand). Before Covid 2019, the undisputed leader in the number of tourist trips to Russia belonged to Chinese citizens – 1.5 million Chinese citizens visited the country in one year.

In total, not only for tourism purposes, in 2022 there were 13.1 million trips to Russia by citizens of other countries.
