Gazprom-Media became another contender for the purchase of MegaFon

The RBC source called Gazprom another contender for the purchase of MegaFon.

The operator’s assets could become a tool for Gazprom-Media to deliver content and promote it to clients. The Gazprom-Media holding company manages NTV, TNT, Match TV and other media channels.

Earlier it became known that Rostelecom is also interested in buying MegaFon. The latter already has a mobile operator Tele2, but the company does not have enough radio frequencies, so there was interest in buying MegaFon.

MegaFon is owned by Alisher Usmanov’s USM structures: 50% is owned by AF Telecom Holding LLC, another 50% is owned by YueSeM Telecom LLC.
