Apple has hired a director of human resources for the first time, according to Bloomberg. They became Carol Surface.
“She brings an incredible appreciation for experience that will be invaluable in supporting our team around the world and leveraging all that makes Apple so special,” Apple said in a statement.
Carol Surface will oversee Apple compliance and report personally to Tim Cook. She will also become head of human resources. The position was previously held by Deirdre O’Brien, who is Vice President of Retail.
Prior to joining Apple, Carol Surface Worked at Medtronic Plc, a healthcare technology company. Medtronic Plc has 100,000 employees, while Apple has 164. [Bloomberg]
