Yandex has updated the currency converter in search: now, in addition to data on the classic currency units of different countries, users will see information on the 143 most popular crypto assets. RB.RU was informed about the changes in the press service of the company.
Just above the search results is a widget with a course box and a quick conversion tool. Using text queries, the service understands what the user is looking for specifically: for example, “Dogecoin price”. When processing them, one can even take into account the jargon: “how much does ether cost” or “bitcoins in Turkish lira”.
Now you can find out the cost of the necessary tokens and coins in rubles, dollars, euros and other world currencies. Later, there will be more of them, and the conversion of some crypto assets into others will also appear.
Yandex receives information about the exchange rate from CoinGecko, one of the largest aggregators of information about digital currencies on the Internet.
According to Yandex, the five most popular cryptocurrencies by the number of requests in 2022 are Bitcoin, Etherium, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Solana.
- In November 2022, a bill on the regulation of cryptocurrency mining was submitted to the State Duma. The document proposes to allow the sale of mined cryptocurrencies both abroad and in Russia.
- In December, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma committee on the financial market, said that in 2023 cryptocurrency will appear in Russia as a legal product.
