The authors of the YouTube channel TheSpyHood tested the RX 6700 XT and RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards in 1440p and 4K resolution. These graphics cards worked with both the oldest drivers (Adrenalin 21.3.1 for RX 6700 XT and WHQL 460.79 for RTX 3060 Ti) and newer drivers (Adrenalin 22.7.1 and WHQL 516.93 respectively).

At 1440p in Call of Duty Vanguard, the RX 6700 XT averaged 136fps and 138fps (first drive and driver two years later), while the RTX 3060 Ti averaged 141fps and 142fps. At 4K these values were all 80fps (with both drives) and 81fps, 82fps (RTX 3060 Ti with WHQL driver 460.79 and 516.93).

Battlefield 2042 ran at 1440p with average performance with the RX 6700 XT running at 89fps (the first driver and the driver released two years later), with the RTX 3060 Ti at 90fps and 92fps respectively. At 4K resolution the measurements were as follows: with the RX 6700 XT – 61 fps in both cases, with the RTX 3060 Ti – 61 fps (first drive) and 62 fps (driver two years later).

Forza Horizon 5 ran at 1440p with an average frame rate of 116 fps and 118 fps (RX 6700 XT, old and newer driver) and 112 fps (RTX 3060 Ti, old and new driver). At 4K, performance was 81 fps (RX 6700 XT), 76 fps and 78 fps (RTX 3060 Ti).

Days Gone ran at 1440p average FPS of 108 and 110 fps (RX 6700 XT, old and new drive), 115 and 117 fps (RTX 3060 Ti, old and new drive). In 4K resolution, these values were 72 fps and 71 fps (RX 6700 XT), 75 fps and 75 fps (RTX 3060 Ti).

Village Resident Evil averages 147 fps and 148 fps at 1440p (RX 6700 XT, oldest driver and newer, respectively), 153 fps (RTX 3060 Ti with both drives), at 4K – 86 fps and 89 fps (RX 6700 XT), 91fps (RTX) 3060ti).

Cyberpunk 2077 ran at 1440p with an average of 72 fps and 73 fps (RX 6700 XT, first drive and newer), 77 and 78 fps (RTX 3060 Ti, first drive and newer). In 4K these figures were 47 and 48 fps, 51 fps and 51 fps respectively.

Far Cry 6 ran at 1440p at an average frame rate of 89 fps (RX 6700 XT, both drivers), 84 and 83 fps (RTX 3060 Ti, first driver and two years later driver). In 4K, this game ran at 50 and 51 fps, with an average of 53 and 54 fps.

Metro Exodus, 4K 55k/s and 56fps, 55fps and 55fps at 1440p (RX 6700 XT with old and new driver), 79fps and 80fps (RTX 3060 Ti, old and new respectively) driver) averaged 79 fps.

Horizon Zero Dawn ran at 1440p with average performance of 89 and 91 fps (RX 6700 XT with old and new driver), 89 and 88 fps (RTX 3060 Ti with old and new driver), 4K – 58 and 59 fps average 61 fps and with 61fps.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ran at 1440p at an average frame rate of 81 and 82 fps with the RX 6700 XT (old and new driver) and 76 fps with the RTX 3060 Ti (old and new driver). We managed to get 54fps and 54fps, 48fps and 49fps in 4K resolution.

At 1440p, Red Dead Redemption II ran at an average of 84 and 85 fps (RX 6700 XT, old and new drive), 87 fps (RTX 3060 Ti, old and new drive), at 4K – 58 and 59 fps / s , respectively 61 fps.

In terms of energy efficiency, the build with the RTX 3060 Ti and the first driver was the best. Power consumption was 429 watts versus 432 watts with the new driver version, 451 watts with the RX 6700 XT and new driver, and 456 watts with the RX 6700 XT and old driver.

As you can see from the measurements, most of the time the difference in FPS between new and old versions of the driver was negligible (1-3 fps) or none at all. This applies to both the RX 6700 XT and the RTX 3060 Ti.
