In 2022, Russian software development companies lost 12-17% of their revenue from supplying their solutions abroad, Kommersant writes with reference to data from the Russoft association. The export earnings of these companies were reduced to 8,400 million dollars.
Such a dynamic is largely due to the refusal of European and American partners to cooperate due to sanctions, despite the fact that these markets were already difficult for Russian suppliers, experts say.
According to a senior manager of a large company, today some European counterparts are still interested in acquiring Russian software.
“I will not name the companies and categories of this software, but I can say that several Russian developers have already established structures abroad that are not formally related to them and continue to supply their solutions,” says the source.
However, domestic development companies are actively reorienting to the South and East Asian markets, they say at Russoft. There is also growing interest in the African and South and Central American markets, however a strong increase in sales in these regions is not expected in the near future.
As the Ministry of Digital Development points out, the greatest demand for national products abroad refers to solutions in the field of “digitization of transport logistics, agricultural and mining industries.”
According to the Center for Strategic Research, 18 states are showing interest in Russian solutions.
