Samizdat platforms have added readers, authors, and fees have increased. Writers for these services earn an average of 50-70 thousand per month. The main authors of Liters receive more than 1 million rubles a month.
At the same time, every third author on the platforms has a main job, a little less than a third of writers devote all their time to creativity, according to the results of a survey by Litnet, which Kommersant learned about.
The number of registered users of “LitRes: Samizdat” last year increased by 57%, and the number of new posts – by 20%, said Sergey Anuryev, head of the “LitRes” group of companies.
The market situation affects the development of the segment: after the loss of foreign licences, publishers are ready to search for new authors on samizdat sites, leaving writers with some rights to independent online publications.
