The design includes elements inspired by James’ personal images and a quote that have meant a lot throughout his career, as well as his love for games and the gaming community. Fans will be able to pre-order on the PlayStation website later this year. The accessories will be released in limited numbers and only in certain countries.
“It’s still crazy to think that a kid who grew up playing games from Akron could create something like this. It’s pretty cool to design a panel for a PlayStation console and controller that pays homage to my “I Promise” students and where we come from. I hope it inspires and people enjoy finding meaning in every detail,” said the basketball player.
This collaboration will mark the beginning of PlayStation Playmakers, a program where the company will collaborate with famous people like athletes, actors, artists and gamers.
