Izvestia’s sources among manufacturers at one of the largest Moscow radio markets reported that the supply of “gray” smartphones is practically non-existent.

Devices imported without encrypted customs procedures and not serviced under warranty have already risen in price by 3-4 thousand rubles. In the future, their price may be revised with the topics that were imported by parallel imports, the market of which continues to grow.

Small batches of “gray” gadgets are often detained at customs. During March, according to experts, stocks of devices previously imported under illegal schemes will run out altogether.

The Federal Customs Service told the publication that smartphones imported without marking customs formalities are contraband. The Federal Customs Service received the results of its work to combat illegal supplies as planned.

Observers note that attention to the “gray” has increased due to the fact that last year they accounted for about 5% of all sales, and this year – up to 30%. [Известия]
