Google launched this Wednesday (8) second build of android 14 developer preview. The update, which comes one month after the first release, includes improvements in privacy, security, performance, productivity and personalization.

One of the main innovations of the software, the user chooses which photos and videos a particular app can access. Apps currently do not have access to the entire smartphone gallery or to any files.

With the new OS, people will have three options: Allow access to all photos (complete library of all photos and videos on the device is available for the app to access); Select Photo (only user selected photos and videos are temporarily available through MediaStore) or disallow (access to all photos and videos is denied).
