Lenovo has announced the release of two new high-performance gaming laptops: Legion 7i and Legion 7. Both models have the best CPU and GPU configurations from AMD and NVIDIA and are in contention as the most powerful models ever made.
Lenovo Legion 7i is basically the same as Legion 7 in design, build and finish. The biggest difference with the suffix “i” is that the letter is used to denote the Intel model, while products without the “i” have AMD hardware.
The look is dark gray with RGB LEDs distributed over the sides and keyboard. The manufacturer bets on the system Advanced Legion Coldfront 4.0 to realize laptop cooling. In terms of connectivity, the device is pretty complete and includes Ethernet ports, HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-C, USB Type-A and microphone input.
In addition to appearance, laptops have the same display options. The 16-inch models come with an IPS panel on it. Quad HD resolution, 165 Hz or 240 Hz, 3 ms response timeHDR 400 and NVIDIA G-SYNC.
Lenovo Legion 7i
Lenovo’s new flagship comes with Intel’s recently announced HX processors. On that laptop CPU chosen was Core i9-12900HX, 16 cores, 24 threads and boost up to 5Ghz. However, there is also the i7-12800HX option with almost the same settings but less cache.
Additionally, the laptop has a choice of 16GB or 32GB DDR5 RAM at 4800MHz. Possibility of overclocking up to 5600 MHz in the second version. Internal storage is provided by a PCIe 4.0 SSD up to 2TB. The selected video card is an RTX 3070 Ti or a RTX 3080 Ti.
Lenovo Legion 7
On the AMD side, Legion 7 has Ryzen 9 6900HX processor (8 cores, 16 threads and clocked up to 4.9Ghz) or Ryzen 7 6800H. Storage and RAM options are the same, but there is no possibility to overclock the memory in this model.
In GPU the user can choose between powerful ones. Radeon RX 6850 XT or RX 6700M, also with ample gaming performance at 1440p. For now, Lenovo has not announced an official price or even a release date for the notebooks.
