Such “accelerator” apps seem effective at first glance. But as a result, Android only needs to work harder to restart disabled background processes. As Mishaal Rahman discovered, Google aims to stop such apps from ruining devices.

In Android 14, apps are prohibited from killing background processes that are not touching them. This change will actually break the functionality of “accelerator” programs.
