Hideaki Omura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture, is concerned about what is happening to one of the main attractions in his sector, the famous park Studio Ghibli.
This is because since its opening, some unwanted visitors have been found taking inappropriate photos with some anime figures.
At least this is what social media users report:
In images collected via Twitter, you can see a group of men pretending to stalk characters like Theroux de Earthsea Tales and marines Marnie’s memoryeither trying to take pictures of the statues’ skirts or touching their chests.
“Ghibli Park is a place where adults and children can have fun while enjoying Ghibli movies. I don’t want people coming to the park doing what many people find offensive.” said Hideaki Omura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture, before adding that this behavior of some visitors is somewhat “extremely unfortunate.”
“We will take drastic measures because (Ghibli Park) is located on the territory of a prefectural park,” added.
Omura further compared this behavior “extremely malicious”with practice”out of place in conveyor belt sushi restaurants.”referring to another problem Japan is facing: people are filming themselves licking soy sauce bottles and even sushi plates, which they are not going to eat in open sushi establishments.
