At the beginning of March, Anatel began remotely blocking TV Boxes that are considered pirated due to lack of approval. So far, the regulator has identified 57 devices as safe, which has left tech users skeptical: can my device be disabled after all?
Major models that are safe to use include IZY Play (Intelbras), Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, and Google Chromecast. The trend is for more models to be added to the official roster over time, but it’s already possible to get an idea of which devices’ days are numbered. The agency recently released Important tips to check if your device is safe.
The plan provides procedures for blocking or redirecting content traffic and encryption keys for Conditional Access Service – SeAC (pay TV) on these devices. https://t.co/RRNd9UCICcC

How do I know if my TV Box will be blocked?
It is important to point out there is no “unlimited and free access” to paid content. In addition to the security issues, the measures are aimed at combating audiovisual content piracy – legal actions also remove such content from the Internet.
legal devices grant subscription-only access to streaming channels and servicesserves only as an aggregator to facilitate consumption. With this in mind, Anatel recommends the user to pay attention to the following points when purchasing a TV Box:
- Anatel Seal: registered devices bring up the homologation tag with the registration number affixed to the device.
- Search on the Anatel portal: If the user suspects that the TV Box is pirated despite its seal, it is possible to search for the registration number in the agency’s system.
If your product bears the seal and has a valid registration, the device will be safe and unaffected by Anatel’s anti-piracy measures. For more details, it’s worth checking out the full list of agency-approved Smart TV Boxes.
