The company said it used artificial intelligence to detect when a user was trying to take a clear photo of the Moon at 25x or higher zoom.

And if a scene optimizer is enabled, the technology reduces the brightness, takes a few frames, and improves details using a high-resolution reference image for comparison:

At the same time, Samsung hasn’t denied that its algorithms create photos that don’t reflect what you see through the lens. The Korean IT giant also acknowledged that the final image was finalized using the Scene Optimizer.
