Scientists from the University of Pennsylvania and OpenResearch published an article about the prospects for the ChatGPT chatbot to replace a number of professions. The researchers’ conclusions are disappointing for those who are concerned about their workplace: Most administrative, financial, and even creative tasks can be assigned to the neural network.

The researchers called the professions that will replace ChatGPT

A week ago, OpenAI introduced the fourth generation of the ChatGPT chatbot. The neural network has not only learned to accept visual requests, but has generally become much smarter and more creative. This has raised the question for scientists and AI enthusiasts: “How likely is the scenario in which ChatGPT will replace humans in most professions?”. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania and OpenResearch believe this could happen in the next few years.

According to the article, language models like ChatGPT can perform up to half of the tasks in 49% of professions. Also, the chances of losing a job are higher for those who are now engaged in a highly paid business. In particular, programmers and journalists were at risk.

According to the researchers, web designers (100%), mathematicians (100%), writers (100%), and blockchain engineers (94.1%) are most at risk of being replaced by a neural network. In turn, job loss in the near future may not worry people in fields associated with manual labor: carpenters, painters, cooks, mechanics, and hairdressers.
