Apple has patented NFC straps for the Apple Watch that automatically change the watch face and launch apps connected to the watch.
Engineers have added an NFC module to the strap mount. After the bracelet is installed, its NFC chip automatically syncs with the NFC in Apple Watch.
The watch automatically changes the dial to match the color of the strap. The Apple Watch can also run apps such as Workout when installing a sports bracelet.
So far, this is only a patent, so there is no guarantee that Apple will implement it in the future. [Patently Apple]
