The Snipping Tool for Windows 11 records more than just the cropped portion of the screenshot. If you take a screenshot with the tool, hit the save button, and then crop it and save it in the same file, the data may still be present in the file. With a little digging, you can see parts of the image that were allegedly cut off, writes David Buchanan.
However, the scope of the vulnerability is somewhat limited. It requires exactly the following sequence of actions: save-cut-save.
