WhatsApp for Android phones introduced a bug this Monday (27), preventing users from accessing the app.. Reports state that the software is outdated and therefore cannot be opened. However, there is no new version available for download in the Google Play Store.

According to the message displayed by the application and shared by users on social networks, it is informed that the version of the application “is out of date since March 27, 2023”, that is, as of today.

“As of March 27, 2023, this version of WhatsApp is outdated. Tap ‘Download’ and update to the latest version from Google Play Store. Your device date is March 27, 2023. If this information is incorrect, adjust the date settings of the device and restart WhatsApp”, quoting the reporter.

Still, according to screenshots shared by users, the app reports that it is possible to tap ‘Exit testing program’ if you no longer want to receive test versions of WhatsApp to fix the issue.

Is there a solution?

According to the users themselves, most of those affected by the error message are normally part of the WhatsApp beta program that can suffer from instabilities. However, before leaving the testing program, users claim that it was possible to fix the problem.

According to reports, set the cell phone clock to an earlier date and the software will work normally again. However, many users who have tried alternative solutions such as uninstalling the application are no longer able to reinstall it.

While there is no official fix, the basic recommendation is that general users of the app should not use the trial versions mostly because of possible malfunctions.

on a note Technology WorldWhatsApp said it would not comment on the matter at this time.
