Mobile operators estimated RuStore’s share among app stores at 2-3%

At the beginning of February, RuStore announced the completion of the beta testing stage and allowed the publication of applications by foreign developers.

According to Yota, in March, RuStore received 1.54% in terms of traffic volume. Google Play takes over 95%. Marketplace Huawei AppGallery ranked second with 2.85%

Megafon estimated that the total market share of the Russian markets is only 2%. Google Play took 87.5%, App Store 8.5%. AppGallery received 1.9% in March.

Tele2 reported that among its subscribers the number of Google Play users is 85%. Since 2022, the number of Huawei market users has decreased from 8% to 5%, according to the operator’s press service.

“Users of alternative stores last year occupied less than 1%, this year their share has grown to 3%, of which 2% are RuStore,” explained Tele2.

MTS claims that during the year the number of users from alternative markets with applications for Android devices has grown by 17%.

Thus, the Samsung application store, which left the Russian market in 2022 due to sanctions, lost 6% of Russian users. At the same time, the Chinese markets Huawei and Xiaomi increased their audience by 20% and 15% respectively. However, Google Play’s share remained at the same level.

Of the Russian markets, RuStore is the most popular among MTS subscribers. In second place is RuMarket, in third and fourth place are NashStore and AppBazar.

According to a source from the telecommunications market agency, RuStore’s share today reaches 3%. According to him, Google Play only occupies 55% of the market. A 17% share, according to the publication’s source, received the Galaxy Store. Another 16% – for GetApps and 8% – for AppGallery.

Previously, RuStore decided to reduce the commission for hosting applications by 6 times. The new rate will be in effect until the end of the year.
