More than 40% of Russian women who have decided to leave employment and start working for themselves choose the field of consulting, a survey by the women’s business accelerator Collabroom showed.
Collabroom specialists identified three main reasons that prompted a woman to start her own business in 2022.
- glass ceiling in a quarry
- Layoffs, departure of Western companies, closure of offices of large employers
- emotional exhaustion
According to the survey, most of the time (more than 40% of the cases) they are engaged in consulting and focus on developing and promoting their own brand. As a rule, these are women with leadership experience, former CEOs, HRDs, CMOs.
Another 30% are interested in technology projects with risk potential. They prefer EdTech, HRTech, Mental Health, Community Tech and create their own projects.
About 30% are ready to completely change the direction of activity, having left employment. To open their business, they choose the beauty industry, food, education, trade and marketing. The fashion industry is also popular.
In this case, women decide to leave employment in order to pursue their hobbies and do what they love, having some skills in their arsenal.
Earlier, The Orbit Me founder Mikhail Belyaev told RB.RU how female founders build businesses in religious countries.
