As Ars Technica reported, many users received payments with the message “Google Pay is testing the Remittance experience”, which in technical terms means beta testing the software. This message should have been intended for internal Googlers and testing partners only.
After that, Google sent users an email explaining that as a result of an error, unexpected money was deposited into their Google Pay account and the issue was resolved. Users who spend or transfer money can keep it.
