By the end of 2022, the share of Russians who issued a foreign bank card exceeded 11%. A year earlier, this figure did not exceed 3%.
This is confirmed by a study by Anderida Financial Group, the results of which were published by RIA. The survey was conducted among 2,000 employed adults residing in more than a million Russian cities.
According to expert forecasts, by the end of 2023, the share of Russian citizens who have issued a card in foreign banks may grow to 15%.
Most of the respondents chose the banks of Kazakhstan – 36%. Next in popularity among Russians are financial institutions from Turkey (16%), Georgia (10%), Armenia (6%), and Belarus (5%).
Only a third of respondents (34%) visited the country of the issuing bank for the purpose of issuing a card, 66% of study participants managed to do so remotely.
More than half of those who issued a foreign card (56%) spent, including transportation costs, from 30 to 60 thousand rubles, 28% – up to 30 thousand. It took 16% of respondents to issue such a card for more than 60 thousand rubles.
