The number of people investing in the Moscow Stock Exchange increased by 548 thousand people in April and exceeded 25 million people. The most popular securities in the portfolios of private investors remain the shares of Sberbank, Gazprom, Lukoil and Norilsk Nickel.
The Moscow Stock Exchange, in its traditional monthly report, announced an increase in the number of investors on the site by 548,000 in April. The total number of individual investors on the Moscow Stock Exchange exceeded 25 million.
The share of individuals in the trading volume of shares was 81.5%, in bonds – 35.6%, in the futures market – 69%. 2.6 million private clients of the Moscow Stock Exchange made at least one transaction in April.
The most popular securities in the portfolios of private investors have long been ordinary shares of Sberbank (32.7% share), shares of Gazprom (20.2%), Lukoil (10.1%) and Norilsk Nickel (7 ,3%).
In April 2023, the trading volume on the Moscow stock exchange doubled compared to April 2022. The total trading volume on all markets on the site increased by 2.6% and amounted to 90.3 trillion rubles.
