Microsoft has completely stopped warranty service for Xbox consoles in Russia “due to the current situation.” The company was advised to contact the stores where the prefix was purchased, Izvestia learned.
Users who bought the product officially and with a manufacturer’s warranty also faced the issue. According to one of them, he bought a device with a guarantee until 2024, but still they refused to accept it in the Microsoft service.
The user reported that when filling out an application on the site, he was told that “there are no cheap service options.” To fix the Xbox, the manufacturer suggested “shake the dust off the console” and “reboot the device.”
Anna Sarbukova, a specialist from the EBR law firm, noted that on the Microsoft website Russia is still on the list of countries where devices are guaranteed. She advised users who encountered a problem to contact Rospotrebnadzor. The department emphasized that such situations are fully regulated by the consumer protection law.

According to a company representative, console buyers can contact the store within the warranty period. Citilink’s press service also responded. Ozon added that the sellers or the platform itself are responsible for the products, depending on who the device was purchased from.
