Intel: document confirms Meteor Lake are 14th generation chips

A leaked internal Intel document reveals the next big tech CPU family to be released later this year. 14th generation chip line, which will be called meteor lake. Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs may retain their previous 13th generation mark.

It’s still unclear whether Meteor Lake will be the only 14th-gen Core family, as the 13th-gen Core line already consists of Alder Lake and Raptor Lake CPUs. However, it is too early to talk about this, so only time can confirm this.

Intel Desktop CPU core count progress has been steadily increasing over the years. Intel has continued its commitment to improving the performance and efficiency of its processors with each new generation, and the 14th generation core series will certainly continue this trend.

Expected to start production in the second half of 2023, the Meteor Lake series will come with a strong focus on laptops alongside chip technology and hybrid x86 core architecture. Rumors have it that the new chips could deliver more than 50% efficiency gains compared to current-generation models.

It shouldn’t be long before Intel brings official news about the Meteor Lake line of products, as the launch should take place in the second half of the year.
