Google released the first public beta of Android 14 with changes to system navigation, new privacy features, performance tweaks, and other updates. The first two versions were for developers only.
There aren’t many features in this version, but there are two UI updates worth checking out, TechCrunch writes.
First, gesture navigation offers a more prominent arrow that will adapt to the theme or wallpaper of the device. Also, the new arrow will help users better understand Android 14’s predictive gestures that show a preview of the previous screen to navigate.
Second, Android 14 has a new Share menu. It will now be possible to add various actions for specific applications at the top of the general menu.
The first public beta also added expanded language settings and new privacy features. The beta is available for Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones.
