The Russian authorities are developing a bill on the creation of a national crypto platform. It will form a registry of digital currency operators, monitor their compliance with the necessary requirements, and grant licenses for their activities. Sergei Altukhov, a member of the State Duma Committee for Economic Policy, told Vedomosti about this.

The Central Bank of Russia allows the use of cryptocurrencies in external settlements as an experiment. This project is being prepared as a pilot legal regime.

The parliamentarian added that with the help of this platform, exporters will be able to use the digital currency in cross-border payments.

Creating conditions for the circulation of digital currencies will reduce dependence on global financial assets and bring the goal of digital sovereignty closer. Russian cryptocurrency miners are promised to be assigned a separate OKVED code, the report says.
