In an article for Nature magazine, acclaimed perfumer Michael Moiseef talks about his latest creation, a tip to replicate the smell of the moon, inspired by the story of Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the surface of our closest space neighbor in July of 1969.

As the astronaut described, after removing his helmet in the lunar module, he experienced “a pungent metallic odor reminiscent of pores, or the smell after a firecracker explosion.”

As you know, among the exhibits of the Space Museum in Toulouse, where Michael Moiseef currently lives.

Alas, the vast majority of the earth will never be able to visit it, but those who know Toulouse!
