As of April 18, 2023, there are 1,664 electric vehicle charging stations in the country, an increase of 105% compared to a year ago, with the most stations in Moscow (300 stations in total). Other cities with a large number of charging stations include Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Krasnoyarsk, St. Petersburg and Kazan.
The authors of the study also reported a growing interest in purchasing electric vehicles in the country: in the first quarter of 2023, the number of VIN checks for such cars with mileage in more than one million cities increased by 117%.
The most popular electric car models are Toyota Prius, Lexus RX, Honda Civic and Nissan Leaf.
