It’s unclear whether Musk will sue Microsoft, but the dispute may be over OpenAI’s use of Twitter data to train major language models that support products like ChatGPT.
While OpenAI isn’t owned by Microsoft, recently Microsoft has invested heavily in a company that helps put artificial intelligence “small-soft” into tools like Bing, Edge, and Microsoft 365.
Microsoft declined to comment on Musk’s The Verge threat.
Meanwhile, Musk’s announcement comes after Microsoft announced that the advertising platform will no longer support Twitter due to platform changes that require payment to access its API.
