Sberbank has launched transfers in Chinese yuan throughout Russia, as well as in Belarusian rubles to any bank in the republic. The operation can be performed by account number. The credit institution has set a commission of 1% on the transferred amount.

To transfer, you must have a savings account in one of these currencies. You can open it in the banking application in the “Deposits and accounts” section.

According to Dmitry Malykh, Sberbank’s Senior Vice President and Head of B2C Transactional Banking, today the organization sees a demand for such a service. The bank is confident that this step will help customers more effectively resolve their financial problems.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia, paying for energy resources, is switching to national currencies, in particular, the yuan and ruble.

Last month, the Chinese yuan surpassed the US dollar in trading volume on the Moscow Stock Exchange. Dollar trading volume amounted to $1.7 trillion, while market participants traded $2 trillion in Chinese yuan.
