The flagship Rostic’s opened in Moscow at the KFC site on Tverskaya-Yamskaya, an RB.RU correspondent reports about the opening ceremony of the restaurant.
Soon 25 restaurants will open in Moscow, then 15 restaurants in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, and then all restaurants in the Moscow region.
- Previously the American Yum! Brands announced the completion of the transaction for the sale of the Russian business of KFC to the company Izhevsk Smart Service LTD. The agreement includes the sale of 70 KFC restaurants, the operating system and the rights to the main franchise. The Izhevsk company has become a franchisor of 1058 partner outlets.
Smart Service LTD partner Konstantin Kotov told reporters that the approach — preservation of KFC standards: “The main idea is that we should take the brand and develop it.”
He added that now the main objective is to change the brand. “We have plans to finish the whole country (rebranding – ed.) in 18 months,” Kotov added. Rostic’s also plans to open about 1,000 outlets in a few years.
The rebranding of the restaurants was one of the terms of the deal. The new owner was going to create a “Yum! concept”, as well as to save jobs for the entire Russian team.
Responding to a question about the new logo, Tatyana Shamanskaya, CEO of Unirest (which manages the former assets of American brands Yum!), said that it is “important for the company to maintain continuity.” “We surveyed guests and tested the spelling of names. We chose the name in Latin. This is what our guests voted for,” Shamanskaya explained.
He added that the rights of the Rostic’s brand, with all its spellings, are pending.
The logo of the updated network, as noted by its owners, retains continuity: stripes, black and white outline, red colors.
The company will work to expand its product line. Now, at the stage of restoring work, there will be no differences in the menu.
KFC began changing restaurant signs in Moscow to Rostic’s at the end of January 2023, but a few days later they disappeared and representatives of Smart Service claimed that the logo would be more visible, but still recognizable.
- Smart Service LTD LLC is owned by Konstantin Kotov and Andrey Oskolkov. The businessmen are also engaged in the development of eight Rosinter restaurants (IL Patio, Planeta Sushi and other brands).
- Hmm! Brands announced the suspension of its KFC restaurants in Russia in early March 2022. At the same time, franchise outlets continued to operate, as most of the restaurants in Russia under the KFC brand are managed under franchise agreements and are owned by of Russian legal entities.
