This Tuesday (25), Asus has officially announced its new device for gamers, and it’s really powerful. Dubbed the ROG Ally, it’s a PC/console that promises to deliver a high-quality experience to consumers who love to game indoors and out.

Weighing just 608 grams, the portable console features an ergonomic design that makes gaming easy, including joysticks with the same design pattern as the new Xbox controls. As Asus explains, The device will launch on May 11 in the United States, China and London at 11:00 am (Brazilian time)..

Meet ROG Ally

Consumers who purchase ROG Ally will receive a three-month subscription to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service, which includes hundreds of PC games. In addition, the device is compatible with other gaming platforms such as Steam, Epic Games, EA Play, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net.

The console features ergonomic angles and curved ends to provide a more comfortable “grip” during gameplay – the brand claims the model’s design is perfect for any size hand.

Similar in design to the Xbox controller, including the curved edges and triggers, the buttons and directional pad can withstand up to ten million “clicks”, while the analog stick lasts up to two million turns.

ROG Ally is equipped with a 7-inch display, AMD Ryzen Z1 Series APU, 16GB RAM, 512GB internal storage, smart cooling, Windows 11 operating system, among other configurations.

ROG Ally specifications

  • 7-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 16:9 aspect ratio, 500 nits brightness and Gorilla Glass DXC and Victus protection — the glasses offer better visibility even in brighter environments;
  • Dual front-facing speakers with 5.1.2 virtual surround sound and Dolby Atmos;
  • AMD Ryzen Z1 Series processor with 4nm, Zen4 CPU and RDNA 3 architecture technology;
  • Dual Channel 16GB LPDDR5 RAM memory;
  • Internal storage with 512GB SSD and PCI Express 4.0 port (4.5GB transfer rate per second). The console/computer also offers a slot for MicroSD chips with speeds of up to 312 MB per second.
  • Windows 11 operating system;
  • Gravity resistant thermal system to allow the device to be rotated up to 360º;
  • Anti-gravity heatpipes to keep ROG Ally cool and not overheating the system. To work, the heat will evaporate the liquid in the pipe and create a force to draw the water and cool the system;
  • Quiet cooling fans—no more than 20dB, according to the company;
  • Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and USB Type-C port;
  • Dust filter.

Accessories, price and launch

Consumers can also connect different accessories such as ROG Cetra True Wirelles wireless headphones, Ally Travel Case, ROG Gaming Charger Dock, ROG XG Mobile to the console to boost visuals with comprehensive graphics (up to GPU GeForce RTX). 4090), among other peripherals.

The device also offers Armory Crate, an app that lets you configure and control different products in the ROG series.

Asus has yet to confirm the details of the price or the prediction of the international launch of the ROG Ally, but rumors suggest that the price will be US$649 (around R$3,300 at current offer).
