Elon Musk on his Twitter account announced the appearance of a new function on the platform. Users will be able to purchase access to articles individually, without spending a monthly subscription.
The head of the social network wrote that starting in May, Twitter will allow the media to charge users for an article “with a click.” Thanks to this, the reader does not have to spend money on a subscription if he wants to read a single article.
The benefit to the publisher is that users without a subscription will pay a higher price per article.
“This should create a win-win situation for both media organizations and the public,” the billionaire said.
News continues to appear on Twitter after the arrival of Elon Musk as CEO of the company. Last month, the platform launched a paid Twitter Blue subscription for users around the world. It costs $7 per month for the annual payment and $8 for the monthly payment.
