YouTube announced that creators must now indicate when they will use artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content in videos. Platform to explain the use of artificial intelligence in video Added a new field to the Creator Studio tool publishing flow. Users are required to report “whether there is modified content” with artificial intelligence on the first page.
“To comply with YouTube’s policies, you are required to tell when content has been altered or synthesized to appear real,” YouTube explains. “This includes realistic sounds and visuals made with artificial intelligence or other tools,” he adds.
Acknowledging that the content has been modified, the video will be identified with a special stamp. This way, viewers will know that the material is digitally produced and may contain realistic computer-generated scenes.
However, it is worth emphasizing that there is no need to describe digitally produced scenes that do not seek realism. Additionally, there is no need to inform the platform whether the content was produced using productive tools during the editing process.
By default, the custom badge appears only in the expanded description area. However, if the video is about a sensitive topic (for example, health or politics), the identifier will be more specific.
